About Dr. Grimes
Rev. Dr. Tresmaine R. Grimes is a native New Yorker who was born and raised in New York City. She received the Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University; the Master of Arts degree from the New School for Social Research; and the PhD in Psychology from Columbia University. She completed the Management Development Program at Harvard University in 2008.
Dr. Grimes began her teaching career at South Carolina State University, where she served for nine years. She spent 15 years at Iona College in New Rochelle, NY, serving as a member of the Psychology faculty and as Assistiant Vice President for Academic Affairs for 8 years. She served as Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty at Bloomfield College from 2015 to 2019. Dr. Grimes is currently Dean of the Dyson College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Education at Pace University in New York. Dr. Grimes has used her professional skills to assist many organizations, including the American Psychological Association, the Educational Testing Service, and the College Board. She has received many awards, including Teacher of the Year from the South Carolina Psychological Association and the Standing on Their Shoulders Award from the Bronx Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Dr. Grimes was ordained into the ministry in 2001, and has served in many capacities in the church, including praise and worship leader, Bible teacher, preacher, ministry leader, and Associate Pastor. As founder of Sarah’s Daughters Ministries, she is frequently called upon to lead workshops for Christian women on topics such as marriage, emotional well-being, and recovery from emotional and physical trauma. Her first book, Sarah’s Daughters, focuses on fertility and fruitfulness from a Biblical perspective. Her second book, entitled, Little Lessons, Big Faith, is a 52-week Bible study guide that brings the scriptures to life with practical applications for everyday living. Dr. Grimes and her husband, Rev. Clarence Grimes, Jr., have been married since 1984. They are Co-Pastors of Living Water Christian Center, a non-denominational church they established in 2014. Dr. Grimes and Pastor Grimes are the proud parents of two adult children and have two grandchildren. |
